This is the adorable moment a group of young elephants playfully pretend to charge at a safari car after they spot it watching them.

The moment was caught on camera by tourist Paul Charnley, who was on safari in Kruger National Park in South Africa with his family when they spotted the energetic animals on March 31.

In the video, the small herd of elephants is seen slowly crossing the road ahead of the car, with two young elephants playfully fighting with each other in the road.

After noticing that they have an audience, the playful calves decide to put on a show, mock charging towards the vehicle.

The clumsy juvenile elephants are seen falling over their feet as they run towards the car, stopping several meters away from the vehicle.

Surprised passengers inside the car can be heard laughing as one of the young elephants’ swings their trunks towards the vehicle while letting out a trumpeting noise.

African elephants can grow to 13 feet tall at the shoulder and weigh 12,000lb meaning a charging adult elephant is very dangerous.

Thankfully for the group of safari-goers, these two playful youngsters didn’t appear to want to hurt any of them.

Kruger National Park, located in northeastern South Africa, is one of Africa’s largest game reserves at 4.9million acres.

The park boasts a wide variety of wild animals who are protected by rangers, including the big five; Lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, and of course, elephants.

Its landscape consists of mountains, bush plains, and tropical forest – meaning a diverse array of birds and smaller mammals have found their home there.
