Entering into rescue work and saving animals is never an easy job. You will be able to face the harsh reality of human cr.uelty. The unimaginable pain that humans are inflicting on these innocent animals can be heartbreaking.

However, no matter how harsh it could be, this reality will not stop people from wanting to help and rescue animals in need. In fact, it directs them to their sole purpose – to save voiceless animals from evil humans.

This rescue story involves a 73-year-old elephant named Sook Jai.

All her life, she was forced to work hard and was mistreated.

Sook Jai is getting older and weaker and her body can’t stand the torture.

During her life in captivity, she was transferred to different owners with various jobs. The elephant was once forced to work in tourist trekking and begging on the streets, but her health deteriorated as she grew older. She was blind and has lost most of her hearing.

Fortunately, the good people at Elephant Nature Park learned of Sook Jai’s plight and came to help her get a new home at their sanctuary.

The rescue center (connected to Save the Elephants) is located in Thailand. Sook Jai would finally have all the good days she deserves.

In the video description, they shared:

“Sook Jai was lucky enough to be found by a caring soul who wanted to help to change her life. She was twice lucky when Joan Baez chose to help SookJai live cr.uelty-free for the rest of her life.”

A group of people went to pick up Sook Jai.

They prepared for the 20-hour journey back to the sanctuary. The 73-year-old elephant was not in good health when they first took it into their custody. Many injuries were found on her head and body from ab.use.

During the long trip, lifeguards worked to help take care of SookJai and keep her comfortable.

Although they could tell that the poor creature was hungry – she refused to eat. She was tired, exhausted, and didn’t know where life was just around the corner.

They were like her angels on earth.

Elephant Nature Park’s team warmed the truck when it was cold and cooled down the elephants when it was hot. It seems that Sook Jai is not used to being treated with such kindness.

At one point in the journey, an emotional moment was captured on film. It was a beautiful but painful moment for an elephant that was finally freed. A poor, helpless elephant has spent her whole life working and being ab.used, but now she knows where she is. She knew she was being rescued.

Sook Jai started to cry.

In the video, the elephant can be seen with tears rolling down his face. It was a heart-pounding sight.

One viewer wrote:

“I cried as soon as I saw her crying while waving her trunk. She knows she is free now. Let’s save and rescue more and more elephants. We can do it together! ”

Sook Jai arrived at her loving forever home.

Near the end of the video, the tractor-trailer ascends to the sanctuary after their long journey. Although the blind elephant can’t really see her new home, she soon discovers what a peaceful life is like.

They end the video saying,

“Her life will not have any restraints. She will remain free, as she deserves. ”

It’s a rescue story that touches the hearts of people around the globe. But it is not the only one. The elephant news YouTube channel has many videos showing the work they do at Elephant Nature Park. The sanctuary also has an Instagram page.
