For being such a tiny country, the Netherlands has a lot of character and very distinctive features. When you hear of Holland, what comes to your mind are colourful stripes of endless tulip fields, scenic windmills, polders and dykes, and canals lined by charming small houses. The Dutch are also masters of great street parties and celebrations, especially world-famous King’s Day massive party, which have to be seen to be believed in. Idyllic countryside, beautiful and unique canal cities, such as Amsterdam, Utrecht, Delft or Leiden, marvellous art in impressive musuems – and vibrant nightlife, make the Netherlands a fantastic country to visit.
